Who are we?
City to City Europe focuses on church planting for the renewal of the cities in Europe, and content resources for leaders who want to bring the power of the Gospel to every part of life.
Our Mission
We seek to catalyse and serve a Europe-wide movement of leaders who create new churches, new ventures, and new expressions of the gospel of Jesus Christ for the common good.
“I believe that there is no more powerful way to reach a city with the gospel than to plant new churches in it.”
— Tim Keller
Our Story
Co-founded by the late Tim Keller in 2001, the City To City family exists as global affiliates (Africa, Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America, MENA, China, India and Europe) and brings a cumulative global experience of church planting and city engagement from over 75 world cities and, according to the 2025 Annual Report, has seen over 2800 churches planted to date (480 in 2024/25). In Europe, the movement covers most of the major cities.
Leaders between these global and European cities connect, encourage and learn from one another.
City to City is known for several specialisms, following the legacy of Tim and his book Center Church. These include:
Gospel centrality
Contextualisation
Church planting
City movements & ecosystems
Faith & Work
Mercy & Justice.
City To City Europe is represented in Ireland by leaders, trainers and coaches in the Dublin Collective and City To City Belfast.
We love cities.
We are committed to the city because God is committed to the city.
Cities are strategic places for Gospel ministry and should receive missional priority at this point in history. We, particularly in Ireland, want to support planters in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Derry. The Central Statistics Office has stated that Ireland is urbanising and, by 2023, 64.47% of the population live in urban areas with the proportion projected to rise further.
That said, even if you don’t go to the city to minister, the city is coming to you. With global culture becoming increasingly urban, churches need a theological vision for ministry that is contextually aware of urban culture.
With the Irish context having short distances and strong interplay between cities, towns and smaller population centres, the Irish Incubator will train church planters for both cities and other places beyond these major cities of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
